BLOG SHOPPING

There is some good quality women's vintage clothing for sale on this blog, and it's going pretty fast. It's all really cheap, reasonably priced, and well-picked. Just a suggestion. I feel like it was a really great idea selling on the blog like that. I would totally try it if I wasn't such a pack rat.

SALVATION ARMY

Prices on non-Wed/Sun: 3
Prices on Wed/Sun: 9
Quality of clothes: 10
Good finds: 7.5

I got some bad ass boots today, but was a little disheartened when Juan Carlos told me people already had them. I guess thrifting does that at times, things get circulated and styles are picked out and of course you are not 100% original just cause you go to second-hand stores and look for old stuff. BUT - I'm okay with it because I really like the stuff I found today.

like these but with a fringe at the toe.

like these other oxford wannabes i got there, i want to spray paint them.

Also got this crazy sparkle costume dress that had leotard crotch to it that I am definitely going to cut off.

Going to have a sew-a-thon with Joel this weekend during the day. I'm excited to finally modify some old clothes, some new thrift stuffs, etc. Going to have so many like-new things afterward, I hope.

Thrifting and Reconstructions

I am going to start reconstructing old clothing into new. This is obviously nothing new to the world or to me even - I've dabbled. But now, I really want to.

I went thrifting today and got some pretty sweet finds. Lace up pointed high heel black boots (similar to these black oxford heels), a flannel men's shirt (very Mary-Kate), 33 men's tank to remake, a decorated sweater to wear as a party dress, and a pink silk tie. Also, I decided I was going to go back to middle school and start wearing ties as accessories as I used to, in the least Avril way possible. Ha.

I forgot to rate the thrift stores!

Savers
Cleanliness: 9
(definitely Goodwill quality)
Value/Cost Ratio: 6
(most were pricey for second hand, 50% purple tags saved me)
Quality of items: 7.5
(many fashionable finds, had to dig of course)

Top Drawer
Cleanliness: 10
(more of a vintage/boutique shop)
Value/Cost Ratio: 6.5
(some quite pricey, others not)
Quality of items: 5
(found nothing, but potential was there)

I'll show you what I do with my finds this weekend.
