ONE PAIR of tickets (valued at $150) to the Maroon 5 show October 22, 2010 @ The Woodlands Pavilion in Houston -AND- two signed copies of Maroon 5's latest album "Hands All Over," which was released Sept 21.

I am psyched to be able to pass on an opportunity like this to my readers and any other fans out there. I mean, Maroon 5 is HUGE. Who doesn't remember jamming out to "This Love" on the radio? Or ladies and gay friends, who doesn't remember lusting after Adam Levine? I mean, check out how foxy he is looking in the video for the hit single "Misery" from the new album.

They also show up in some of our favorite girly films of the late 90s and 00s. I am excited to tell you all that The Donnas are coming to Austin to play at the Endless Beauty launch party, at Seaholm Power Plant, this Saturday. I know I would love to go, so hopefully some of you readers would similarly like to attend!

KVRX x Fun Fun Fun Fest Giveaway

Check out this KVRX FFFFest wristband giveaway. KVRX and Fun Fun Fun are teaming up to bring you an opportunity to win a two-day pass to the festival. You have two contest-entry options to choose from:

Option 1: Make an original music video featuring an artist playing at this year’s Fun Fun Fun Festival. Videos can be as crazy or as tame as you want, but you will be judged on creativity! So show us what you got. The KVRX staff will vote on the best video and the winner will receive a Fun Fun Fun Fest two-day pass. You are encouraged to collaborate with others to make the best video possible, but remember only one pass will be awarded.

Option 2: Record yourself telling the world why you love KVRX. Use music, sound effects, your little brother or sister, anything that will give you the edge and shows your admiration! This should be submitted in audio file format, include your first name, where you’re from, and please… stay PG! (This means no curse words.) Holy Ghost! Ticket Giveaway

I am happy to announce that I will be conducting another ticket giveaway, this time for Learning Secrets party featuring Holy Ghost! at Barcelona.


Just a little bit of information about the party: it is 21+. With RSVP (on Learning Secrets RSVP page), the show costs $10, without it is $12. This one, as in Barcelona history, will go on after-hours.

Holy Ghost is a Brooklyn duo known for their hit "Hold On" and remixes of songs by Moby, Cut Copy and MGMT. Go to their RCRD LBL site or their Myspace to give them a listen.

The KVRX ticket fairy has returned to bring you another opportunity to attend another KVRX sponsored show / party for free. This time, it is the KVRX "Back to School Extravaganza" this Friday, Sept 18, featuring Best Fwends, The Eastern Sea, No Mas Bodas, Fat Tony and The Low Lows. That is a pretty special line-up, guaranteed to be good.



This time, the show is at Mohawk. Tickets are $5 21+ and $7 under. For the lucky winner - free. Again, I am giving out 2 tickets to one person, because nobody really likes to go to parties solo.

KVRX Ticket Giveaway!

Okay, so this is the first time I have ever done this, so I hope it isn't a total failure. So, I hope you are all aware that KVRX is throwing a little summer bash at the United States Arts Authority, a la Fruth St by Spiderhouse.


Anyhow, I have 2 spots on their list to give away to one reader. I played with the idea of doing 2 different readers, one spot each, but decided that this was the best option.


So, anybody interested in seeing some good local bands this Saturday for free need apply -- also, anybody who was planning on going anyway and would like to opt out of cover charges. I honestly know how it is to not want to even pay a small cover charge (mostly because I never carry cash, I am not claiming bankrupcy).
