What's your take on Glass Candy?

So The Decider had a bit of a scathing review for Saturday night's Glass Candy show. You can access that here, or click on the photo.
I find it strange that two dots were clearly photoshopped from Johnny's face. I talked to him and the FIVE dots signify his five ex-girlfriends he has accumulated throughout his life.

More exciting, though, is the photos Peen Scene posted of that long, crazy night. As you may or may not have read, I had a blast at Glass Candy. I even ended up being in the front of the audience dancing in my high heels, which is rare as I have become an old lady clutching her purse an standing away from the audience on the sidelines.

You can find their Glass Candy set here,
and their Barcelona after-hours party set here.

Note: Me being conceited, 5 dots, Ida's amazing wardrobe, Mattie getting on stage and sporting higher heels than most girls can handle and my friends from Dallas looking so good.

Also, they gave me permission to share with you guys some songs. Here are some favorites:

They're incredibly generous artists, offering free MP3 downloads and tossing out all that free merchandise. Read Ida No's interview with Bleach Online's past issue if you'd like to learn more about the band.

Hey Tiffany, thanks for the post. I thought Glass Candy's show was tops. Also, hope you had a good timme at Barcelona despite the bro's red snapper shot offers.

Scathing? Really? I wrote Decider's recap and while I admit that I was a bit critical of certain aspects of the show, overall I didn't say anything explicitly negative about Glass Candy. I thought they did a great job but compared to when I saw them back in their punkier days, the live show of their new sound lacks a little pizazz. Besides, my main gripe was merely that as attractive as Ida and Johnny are, there was gorgeous fashion-forward crowd at Mohawk on Saturday and I would have loved to see the kids spread out and get into some serious disco dancing! Thanks for the mention though, I'm happy to hear that our online readership is mutual :)

Haha, aw, I didn't even realize that had been your writing. I suppose it wasn't 'scathing,' but I'm sure any band who read it would think so -- at least a little bit. I think the general sentiment of "this was not impressive and I am bored" is just very negative in its own way without being attacking. You're a good writer though, you never told me that.

Yeah, sometimes it's hard to find a balance between critical analysis and saying "Yay, it was a fun show!" In the original draft I had a few more comments about how I have no problem with bands recycling genres but those got edited out. Hopefully this write up doesn't screw my chances of marrying Ida No.

Devon might be a great guy and all, but I think the Decider GC recap post is short sighted. We all have our opinions though, to each his own. But there is just so much conflicting info in these comments here vs what is said in the article. Devon says here that there where "fashion fwd" peeps at the show, but in the article he makes it sound like the crowd is was bunch of has-beens, losers, or even posers like GC. I also think Devon was a muppet sent on a mission to trash talk GC for a Decider editor named Sean ONeal, who possibly edited the GC post, and who also has biased feeling towards GC per twitter. Sean posted on his twitter page, "If you're a friend of mine in Austin, and you're skipping The Arm show to see Glass motherfucking Candy, we are friends no longer."
2:00 PM May 9th from web. So I guess Devon didnt want to lose Sean as a fwend(man-crush).

Ha ha ha, wow. Now we have Twitter based conspiracy theories? No, I'm not Sean's "muppet,"and he didn't edit praise out of the recap. The real scoop is that I failed to be clear about the points I was trying to make.

BTW thnx Kathleen!

Haha, you guys are crazy.

I am pretty sure Sean is in The Arm (through a friend) so I'd hope he doesn't have anything personal against Glass Candy - he just didn't want his friends to ditch him for another show.

Not arguing here, just saying...

Yes Devon, my comment in a nut shell was about zombie puppets, a true bromance, and a Sat night fever conspiracy. Your still a muppet in my book(jk), but your GC blog did remind me of a Statler and Waldorf commentary. Personally, my favorite muppets are the Swedish Chef and Beaker. Keep up the hard work though. I hope to see more constructive criticism in your future Decider posts.
